Kali Linux Installation

Go to kali.org > Download Kali Linux > Kali Linux 64 bit Virtualbox machine download > Download 64 bit machine

Import ova file in vbox

File > Import appliance > Choose the ova file you have downloaded > Next > Agree > Import

Before running the machine

Choose kali > Settings > Network > "NAT Network" or "Bridge"

Start the machine

Default credentials:
username: kali
password: kali

Once the machine is running

Open terminal

sudo apt-get update

If there is no update being pulled on the command above, then use the following process to correct it.

Command:

echo "deb https://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list

after using the command, your repolist is updated properly and you will be able to update your machine or install any software on kali linux.
